The science communication component of the Science engagement division aims to facilitate information sharing with education stakeholders and the public, through our various communication portals including public lectures, social media, printable resources and articles for popular science magazines.
1. Public Lectures
Online and offline events where presenters engage with audiences on topical science issues. These sessions are offered to the public free of charge. Presentations are offered by volunteer researchers and scientist at NRF/ iThemba LABS as well as by those from partner institutions. Pics
2. Online and Social Media
Our social media communication activities are provisioned through the sharing Facebook and Instagram posts with our YouTube channel showcasing videos. These platforms are dedicated to communicating our activities and events. Information about past, current and future science engagement activities including live broadcast sessions.
3. Science Engagement Articles and Career Brochure
A career leaflet aimed at informing learners and students of some of the careers available in research areas and support roles related to the operation of iThemba LABS. This brochure profiles early stage researchers and professionals working at iThemba LABS at the various departments with different SET qualifications.
Science Engagement Articles
iThemba LABS publishes accessible articles in magazines aimed at the youth, professional and the public as a whole.

Our science education programme aims to contribute to strengthening and supporting science understanding, teaching and learning by engaging educators and learners in our schools through bringing the world of accelerator-based science into classrooms.

Our science awareness programme aims to improve the levels of awareness, enjoyment and interest in accelerator-based science for all of society
