Ion Beam Analysis division participates in experiment in Germany

The Ion Beam Analysis (IBA) division of iThemba LABS was invited by Prof Timo Sajavaara, from the University of Jyväskylä in Finland, and Dr Jaakko Julin, from the Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) in Germany, to participate in the round robin experiment which focused on composition and thickness determination of nitride and oxide thin films. The experiment was conducted using the Time of Flight Elastic Recoil Detection Analysis (ToF-ERDA) at the TAMS department with the assistance of Prof Mandla Msimanga who is currently on sabbatical leave for six months. The experiment was a success and the report was submitted during the last week of September. The results will be presented as a talk at the Ion Beam Analysis conference (IBA 2019) in mid-October 2019.
