RADIOTHERAPY CLINICAL RADIOBIOLOGY TRAINING:

MISSIONS

The head of Radiation Biophysics is a registered expert with the IAEA and has been requested by and funded through the IAEA to offer lectures in clinical radiobiology to M Med Registrars (Radiotherapy) and practicing clinicians. To this end 3 missions has been undertaken in recent years to Radiotherapy Centre’s in Africa:

· IAEA Expert missions to Dept. Radiotherapy, University of Zimbabwe, Harare, Zimbabwe 2001:
3 Registrars in Radiation Oncology

· IAEA Expert mission to University of Zimbabwe, 2002:
4 Registrars in Radiation Oncology and 20 Radiographers.

· NRF Expert Mission to Ocean Road Cancer Institute, Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania (2003):
15 Clinicians and Radiotherapists
