TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

In order to produce the much needed skills to meet the country’s needs, the Technical Support Services Group offer “on-the-job” training primarily aimed at
technicians and artisan training.

Technikon students (Mechanical and Electrical Engineering) requiring experiential training are recruited for a fixed period not exceeding 12 months. Intake takes place in January of each year and students are advised to apply and submit a detail CV in the first week of November.

Apprenticeship training comprises competency-based modular training specifically structured by the relevant SETAS.

Apprenticeships are offered in the following trades:

Fitting and Turning
Electrician
Carpentry

Apprentice intake takes place every 4 years and interested candidates are required to submit a comprehensive CV with a covering letter to the following address:

Physics Masterclasses
